| The most incredible acts I've witnessed in my 30 yrs. of nursing have been the strength, detemination,compassion and resiliency of caregivers trying to keep their loved ones at home. |

I have seen a bent-over 90 pound woman take care of her 200 pound bed bound spouse; roll him from side to side, feed him, bathe him. Why? Because she wants to take care of him herself, because she loves him so much, because she wants to keep him at home. |

| It has been my privilege to witness many acts of love like this. Awe inspiring. I have been lucky enough to help guide, advocate and be a resource for such families. |

When my fiance' was diagnosed with Ca., I was able to assist her through; diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and recovery. I became a caregiver for a family member, like I was for my mom when she died at home all those years ago. |

| Now with, 'Extended Family Associates" once again I get the chance to help families keep their loved ones at home, allowing sons and daughters to step out of the role of caregivers and go back to being sons and daughters. I will use my experience as a case manager: in home health, in hospice and in nursing homes to give guidance and support to immediate and extended families. |
